Quality and Service are our cornerstones.
We’ve always wanted to be more than the place where you buy your paint.
In 1985 Gary Newton opened Chattanooga Paint & Decorating at the corner of Austin Road and Hixson Pike. Mr. Newton developed his company and its culture around such values as integrity, quality and dependability. His desire was to support homeowners and homebuilders throughout the Chattanooga area as they sought to enhance their own homes or those of their customers.
When Jim Praytor took over Chattanooga Paint & Decorating in January of 2012, his goal was to continue the company’s rich tradition of quality services and customer satisfaction.
“I bought the store because of the relationship I have with the customers and the staff. We have all worked together for many years and I wanted to see it continue. It was a great opportunity for me and my family to own a small business and deepen our connection to the Chattanooga area.”
− Jim Praytor, Owner
Over the years Chattanooga Paint & Decorating has been a part of such community projects as: TVA Chickamauga Dam Powerhouse Renovation, Chattanooga Hamilton County Regional Planning Agency Building, Global Green Lighting Manufacturing, National Posters Offices and Warehouses, McConnell Elementary School, Big Ridge Elementary School, Hixson High School Sports Complex
“I have really enjoyed working with them over the years.”
